Located in the historic cabin and adjoining terrace next door, The Buttery is an eatery offering global and local wines, craft beer, cider, and seasonal cocktails along with farm-to-table fare from the Locke Store kitchen. The name Buttery originates from the cabin’s roots. Historically, the term “Buttery” was a place where food and drink were stored for the provisioning of guests and passing travelers. Built in 1804 as the original storehouse in Millwood, The Buttery housed the supplies - including “butts,” or barrels, of liquor - for the laborers running the Burwell-Morgan Mill around the clock.
