Start your day with lunch at Southern Inn Restaurant. This Lexington favorite offers a contemporary menu with locally sourced ingredients, an in-house bakery, and an extensive wine list, perfect for those wanting a delicious and memorable meal.

Next, head to some of Lexington’s most loved shops. Need to get some last-minute hiking gear or just looking to update your camping equipment? Check out Walkabout Outfitter for a whole range of outdoor brands like The North Face, Patagonia, Osprey, and more.

Stop by Clover Boutique for your women’s fashion essentials. Clover carries a wide variety of styles and brands, perfect for anyone looking to give their summer wardrobe a refresh.

If you’re more of a home decor shopper, drop by Lizzie’s of Lexington to shop their unique, locally sourced furniture pieces, antiques, and accessories.

QUICK TIP:

Traveling with kids? Go to Just Games – A great place to pick out your next family game night board game, or shop for a new hobby like disc golf, puzzles, or crafting.

After shopping, enjoy a carriage ride with Lexington Carriage Company. This Lexington classic offers 45-50 minute narrated historical tours of local landmarks such as Lee Chapel, Washington and Lee University, Virginia Military Institute, and more! A carriage tour is perfect for history buffs and or anyone looking to make some long-lasting memories.

After a fun day of shopping, reward yourselves with a memorable dining experience at Juniper Lounge, a local upscale restaurant conveniently located in the heart of Lexington (a short 2 minutes’ stroll away from Clover Boutique). Be sure to check out their bruschetta, grilled lamb chops, and happy hour on the patio!

Wind down as you soak in the cozy atmosphere on the alfresco terrace overlooking Main Street as you enjoy your meal. Be sure to check out their award-winning wines and amazing cocktails as well.

For dessert, head to Sweet Things Ice Cream Shoppe for a sweet treat to top off the night. This Lexington landmark has been dipping homemade ice cream in hand-rolled waffle cones for over 30 years! Order a cone or a cup of one of their 24 flavors and prepare to want to come back for more.

When it’s time to rest for the night, do it at a quaint historic boutique inn like The Georges. Offering the warmth of signature Virginia hospitality, a luxurious and comfortable stay, and amazing dining experiences at their in-house restaurants (TAPS and Haywood’s). This spot is perfect for those looking for a relaxing stay that has it all.

QUICK TIP:

Travelling with a larger party? Check out Middleton House, a 4 bedroom restored 1840 house surrounded by gardens in historic downtown Lexington.
