Born and raised in Virginia, Jason Queen grew up in Clarke County and has always lived along the Blue Ridge Mountains where he is now raising his five children along with his wife, Misty. Jason spends most of his time writing about the things he loves most: family, mountains, and hometowns. When he isn’t writing, he can be found with his friends and family, hiking the Appalachian Trail, or fishing and canoeing local ponds and lakes, and especially the Shenandoah River. Jason’s second novel, The World Comes To Mercy Creek, will be released in the Spring of 2021.
My Life Was Mercy Creek is a coming-of-age story told from the point of view of a boy growing up in Virginia during the Great Depression. Set in 1933 and 1934, the stories of his family’s struggles to survive are both heartbreaking and inspiring as we watch them go from the heights of peace and serenity to the depths of scarcity and hopelessness. Will they be able to rise together or will the brutal realities of the rural world they live in separate them and destroy their hopes and dreams?
