Join us on a guided hike of Seven Bends State Park, less than a mile from the entrance to Muse Vineyards guided by David V. Brotman, Executive Director of the Friends of the North Fork of the Shenandoah River.
Tickets are FREE, but required. Register at our website.
The hike will be about 2 hours in length, mostly in shade, and of easy to moderate difficulty. (There are some moderately steep hills.) The group will stay together for a wide range of nature interpretations and will see a few areas of historical and cultural significance. We recommend you wear hiking shoes and bring water. We will be safe distancing among groups.
Your guide will be David V. Brotman, Executive Director of the Friends of the North Fork of the Shenandoah River, with whom we are proud to partner on this program. Their mission is to keep the North Fork of the Shenandoah River clean, healthy, and beautiful through advocacy, community action, education, and science. David has broad experience in environmental fieldwork, business, conflict resolution, and education. Times spent in the Shenandoah Valley as a boy and young man — camping, hiking, fishing, and canoeing — are the very roots of his environmental interests and his love of nature. David is a natural public educator and has taught all age groups in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings. Subjects have included Chesapeake Bay ecology, Wild Edibles, and many more. In Yellowstone NP, he trained citizen scientists in field methods.
