Come and join Chicho Lorenzo and Blue Ridge Children’s Museum this Saturday, August 27th from 10am-2pm!
We are asking children and families from all around to help the Blue Ridge Children’s Museum to design our 4th and final wall of our building. Local muralist, Chico Lorenzo will be taking the drawings (of a flower or a bug) that everyone submits and paint them just as they are onto the wall!
Chicho has this to say:
“This mural is about collaboration without borders, like it happens in nature when spring comes, and different bugs fly, climb and pollinate the flowers. Bees, wasps, beetles, moths, flies… all are important in the process of keeping life.
So I’m asking each child to choose to be either a flower or a bug, and portray themselves drawing on a paper.
You can be realistic or simple, colorful or b&w, full of energy or placidly asleep.
I’ll collect your drawings and paint them, as you created them, in the same giant garden to celebrate together our differences.”
