Event Details

NEW EXHIBIT OPENING SEPT. 21, 2022
Runs through Dec. 23, 2022
Curated by Doreen Johnson and Patti Snyder this fun exhibition will feature 14 quilts made during the Buhl Bushong Sew Along led by Doreen and Patti. Based on the Buhl-Bushong quilt in the collection of the Virginia Quilt Museum this sew along took place starting in July 2019 and feature participants from around the world.
Made by Elizabeth Ann Bushong in 1855 and donated by Henry Buhl to VQM in 2016 the original quilt is a stunning piece in incredible condition. Participants in the sew along each interpreted the quilt in their own way, some used similar fabrics to the original, others went more contemporary.
Come see the original quilt and all of the incredible new pieces inspired by it!
